How does URVO actually work?

You say what you need and where, and you see the verified professionals nearby who do that work, nearest first, with the hourly rate for that trade. You choose one, and your request goes to that person alone. You see when they accept and you can follow them on the way. The work is billed by time, the record shows exactly what happened, and everything is paid in the app — parts included, once you have approved them.

What is Ask URVO?

An AI assistant in the app, for when you don't know which trade you need. You describe the problem and can add up to three photos; it suggests one of the trades we offer where you are, asks one question at most if something isn't clear, and tells you when it's a job we don't cover. If what you describe sounds dangerous, it tells you what to do first and shows the emergency numbers.

It's a suggestion, not a diagnosis: you can always choose the trade yourself, and nothing is booked until you send a request to the person you choose. What it reads, and for how long we keep it, is in the privacy notice.

What does it cost?

You see the hourly rate before you confirm anything, and it is the same whoever you choose: each trade has one rate in each city. A job is billed for at least one hour, and past that in blocks of fifteen minutes — with five minutes of grace, so running a few minutes over does not cost a quarter of an hour. The running total is visible while the work happens.

Parts and materials are not in the hourly rate. They are paid in the app as extras, and only once you have approved them — see below.

When am I charged?

A hold is placed on your card before the work starts — a reservation, not a payment. When the job closes, the final amount is taken and the rest of the hold is released. An extra you approve during the job is charged when you approve it, on the same card. Your card number goes to Stripe and never reaches us.

What about parts and materials?

If the job needs something beyond the time — a part, materials, taking waste away, parking — the professional sends you a request in the app: what it is for, how much it costs, and a photo of the receipt if they have one. You accept and pay it with your saved card, or you decline it. Nothing is charged until you accept.

Labour is never an extra: time is charged only through the timer. A job cannot be closed while an extra is waiting for your answer, and every extra appears on its own line on your receipt and on the professional's invoice.

Can the invoice be made out to my company?

Yes. Save your company's details once in the app, then choose them when you send a request. The professional's invoice is made out to the company, and you can still correct the details until it has been issued.

How do I know the hours are real?

A job starts and finishes with a code that the two of you exchange in person. That is what makes the record worth something: it cannot say someone was at your door when they were not, and it cannot say an hour was worked when it was not. You and the professional see the same record, always.

How are professionals verified?

Before anyone can be booked we check an identity document, a tax number and valid liability insurance. Where a trade is restricted — gas and electrical work in Ireland — we need the registration for that trade too. A document that expires makes someone unbookable until the new one is approved.

A person looks at every document. Uploading one is not approval.

How is the professional chosen?

By you. The list shows, nearest first, the verified professionals who work in that trade, whose travel radius reaches you and who are free right now: available, inside the working hours they set, and not already on another job. Position in the list cannot be bought — there is no promoted slot on URVO, at any price.

Can I pick a particular person?

Yes — that is how URVO works. Before you send anything you see each person's photo, checks, rating and hourly rate, and your request goes only to the one you pick. After they accept you still have five minutes to cancel free of charge if it is not going to work out.

What if they do not answer?

If the person you chose declines, or does not answer in time, the request closes by itself and nothing is charged. You can send it to the next person on the list, and your description and photos go with it.

What if they do not turn up?

There's a fifteen-minute grace period, and after thirty minutes we tell you something has gone wrong. You can report a no-show: the hold on your card is released and you can send the request out again. Three no-shows in thirty days suspend a professional from the platform.

Can I follow them on the way?

Yes. From the moment they accept, you can follow them on the map as they come to you, with the route to your address. Their location is shared only until the job is finished, and never before they accept.

Can I cancel?

Before anyone accepts, cancelling is free. After acceptance you have five minutes in which it is still free. After that, someone has set off for you, and cancelling costs half the one-hour minimum — the exact figure is shown before you confirm.

What if the work was not done properly?

Tell us within fourteen days, while the record is fresh. Complaints explains what we need and how long we take. The professional is responsible for the work and carries insurance for it; we can see the same record you can, which is usually where the answer is.

Do I need the app?

For the work itself, yes. Requesting a job, following someone on the way, starting and closing a job all happen in the app. The web portal is for looking things up — your jobs, your requests, your payments, your details — and for managing your account.

I want to work through URVO. What do I need?

An identity document, a tax number, valid liability insurance, and the registration for your trade if it needs one. You set which trades you work in, where you start from and how far you travel. The terms for professionals set out how you are found, when you are paid and what would get you suspended.

You are running your own business. You decide which jobs to accept and when requests reach you: set your working hours, and while you are on a job new requests pause by themselves.

When do I get paid?

The customer pays URVO, we deduct our commission and the rest goes to your bank through Stripe — normally within about two working days of the job being settled. Every payout shows what the customer paid, what we took and what you receive. Extras the customer paid for — materials, parts and other costs of the job — arrive with the same payout, minus a 3% fee that covers the cost of the card payment.

Where does URVO operate?

Ireland first, and other European countries after that. A country opens with its own rates, its own currency and its own rules about which trades need a registration.

The language you read URVO in is your own choice and is not tied to the country you are in. An Italian living in Dublin gets Italian.
